Hammered Blade

The excellence of the Kasumi Damascus series is well known, the VG-10 cores of the blade providing the finest cutting edge available in stainless steel knife making. Kasumi are experts at working with VG-10, one of the finest stainless steels available for knife making.

Now Kasumi turns its attention to a 3 ply steel knife, with the inner core sandwiched between two outer layers of SUS410 stainless steel. This protects the highly brittle VG-10 against corrosion and knocks. The blade is given a hammered finish to create an effect known as Tsuchime.

Full Tang Handle

Very uniquely for a Japanese knife, the Hammered series is given a POM, plastic handle allowing it to be moulded into an ergonomic design, comfortable and practical to hold

Made in Japan

Japan has always revelled in its isolation, a mysterious land filled with mountains, dragons and the sea. The Kasumi has always understood to be a spring mist, a well known phenomenon in Japan, it will settle over the mountains and sheltered valleys of rural Japan. The ‘Kasumi’ describes the pattern on the blades.
